feb.25 hey dudes, this year has been the best year I've ever had for gear! I finally found a board (Never Summer Legacy 156) is versatile enough to take me from the park to the back country and everywhere in between It has to perfect balance of flex and pop and is just really fun to ride. I also dig the philosophy of the company which seems to be more focused on making really good boards that sell themselves and backing that up with an amazing three year warranty! Flux stepped up their game too this year. They improved the toe cap, making it more reliable and it seems that they lightened the whole binding quite a bit from last year. Everything about the binding is solid and they've yet to let me down in the three years that if been rocking FLUX's. They also look rad. I went back to ThirtyTwo's, and laced up in this years Lashed Model. Super light and super comfortable right out of the box (a trademark of every 32 boot I've ever rocked) they really suit my riding style, in that they're not to stiff but give me support where i need it (and with a gimpy ankle like mine you need that!) Finally, I went with a complete Volcom outerwear kit, and while i don't have the best eye for style, i have to say it my favourite kit I've ever rocked. Technically, Volcom has got it locked down (literally) with they're Zip Tech system, which is they're pant to jacket, snow proof interface. I always thought that soggy undies from snow down your ass was just part of snowboarding, not anymore, and for that reason alone I will probably rock Volcom gear for the rest of my life. Plus they're a core company that is always pushing the industry to stay fresh. I rode in the slopestyle comp this Sunday and it went really well. The park was in pretty good shape, with a five jump line that flowed really nice. Some of the jumps had some crazy kick that took a little getting used to but it was easy to stay stoked in the unseasonal warm, blue bird conditions. I had a nice first run, that felt pretty good. My second run didn't go so well, but my first run held up and I ended up placing first. I was pretty stoked on the whole day and I'm looking forward to the big in 2 weeks and then the OSB invitational the following weekend That's all for me peace Mischa |

Mar. 12 What up everyone Finally got back up the hill after being out for a month with a little ankle injury and man did it feel good! Big Air was supposed to be this weekend but 70 kmph winds and no visibility put a stop to that. Its been postponed until next sunday. We're getting down to the final stretch of the season and pretty much my favorite time of the year. Warm slushy park days!! VI Riders Inaugural season has been even better then we could of hoped for. All of our Riders have been having lots of fun and have been progressing like crazy. It's really cool as a coach to see the level some of the riders are getting to. If anyone else out there wants to learn more about the club or wants to ask any questions just hit me up at our email or flag me down up the hill if you see. I'm hard to miss, just look for the crazy neon green Volcom gear. Till next blog! Peace |
